Superman is taken control by Brainiac. Superman rounds up the world’s leaders and places them in his own private island prison. Outraged, military allies bind together and with the help of Luthor move to stop Superman. In the exchange, Superman is recovered but his son is taken captive. Superman and allies then bind together to stop Brainiac’s plan of enslaving humanity by turning them into mindless cyborgs. In the end, Superman defeats Brainiac but only to find his son has been infected by Brainiac’s methods. Superman then is forced to jettison his son into space, just as Superman’s own father did many years ago.
A strong story about the nature of being human and what that means when it comes to the unity of the entire world.
